  39. Take a look at ftp.usma.edu:/pub/msdos/ws_gmail.zip. It is a new SMTPD & POPD 
  40. & POP client package for Winsock by the same author who brought you WS_FTP and 
  41. WS_PING.

  60. Well, I finally got Trumpet Winsock to work on my slip account (using bootp),
  61. and it was definitely worth the day or so of utter frustration!  If you're in
  62. a similiar setup and can't get it to work, mail me and maybe I can help.

  64. So Mosaic and Gopher are definitely cool, but it is annoying having to go
  65. find the numbered IP address, like 128.174.5.40, from the named address,
  66. such as ftp.uxa.uiuc.edu, and add it to the hosts file, every time I want to
  67. take a hyperlink.  Is there an easy way to do this?  What is the UNIX
  68. command for looking up the ip address? (currently I'm tenet'ing in from a
  69. local account, which tells me the numbered address, but is a pain.)  Is
  70. there some way to get Winsock to ask my local account for the address?
  71. Or is there someone out there with a well-fleshed hosts file they're willing
  72. to share with us?
